NSTP is a 31-day clinical immersion experience and is the pinnacle training event for future Army Nurse Leaders.
The goal of the NSTP is to provide Army ROTC Nurse Cadets with clinical experience in a hospital setting while introducing Cadets to the duties, roles, responsibilities, and expectations of an Army Nurse Corps Officer. Cadets will exercise leadership skills in a hospital environment through accountability, planning, organizing, decision-making, and implementing direct patient care. Cadets will collaborate with other health care professionals patient care decisions, management, and strategies utilized in the provision of medical care to a select population.
Must be an Army ROTC Nursing Cadet (CCIMMs Label JXX.)
Cadet must have completed 1 semester or 2 quarters of an ADULT Medical/Surgical Nursing course WITH CLINICAL Component (excluding community health or psychiatric nursing) by May of the year of NSTP attendance.
If attending CST during Summer 2026, must be able to attend regiment 1-6 with immediate follow-on to NSTP site, no break in training.
Must complete 31-day NSTP rotation.
By Summer 2026, must be up to date on required immunizations.
Must maintain BLS certification via Red Cross (Recommended) or American Heart Association, valid through 31AUG26.
(Application can be submitted without proof of BLS and immunizations but must receive prior to May 2026.)
Must be in good academic standing.
Must Pass HT/WT and ACFT standards.
Must have security clearance initiated.
Must sign NSTP Acceptance memorandum if selected to attend.
